Dr Abhimanyu Kar completed MBBS in 2007 from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore. Subsequently, he did his internship training at R.G. Kar Medical College, Kolkata. He pursued postgraduate training at Government Medical College, Mysore (M.S. General Surgery). Thereafter, served as Senior Resident in the dept of General Surgery at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal between 2012-2014. In this period, he passed DNB (General Surgery) and was awarded Membership of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK. Following his tenure at Manipal, he did super-specialty training, DNB (Surgical Gastroenterology) from The Calcutta Medical Research Institute, Kolkata (2015-2018). Hereafter, he worked as Consultant in GI, Bariatric and Minimal Access Surgery at a prominent hospital in Kolkata. In pursuit of further training, he did post-doctoral fellowship in GI-HPB Surgical Oncology at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata. After this period, he joined Tata Medical Center, Kolkata as Consultant in GI-HPB Surgery. Dr Kar, has presented papers at national conferences, published papers and keeps keen interest in academic activities. His area of interest lies in minimally invasive Colorectal surgery.
