Dr. Mishra is currently a Senior Consultant in Laboratory Haematology & Molecular Pathology at the Tata Medical Centre, Kolkata; a fledgling new comprehensive cancer centre . He is also the Director of the Dept of Laboratory Sciences in the hospital. After working for more than 25 years in the Armed Forces; in its flag-ship hospitals & institutes like Army Hospital (Research & Referral), New Delhi and Armed Forces Medical College, Pune ; he joined his current assignment in May, 2010, which has state of the art diagnostic , therapeutic and research facilities. He is the best medical graduate of his MBBS batch from VSS Medical College, Sambalpur, Odisha in 1983 and AFMC, Pune is his alma mater for his MD Pathology in 1990. He received his post-doctoral Fellowship in Haematology from the prestigious AIIMS, New Delhi and have been further trained in many centers of excellence in the west. His major areas of interest have been flowcytometry and molecular genetics in haemato-oncology including minimal residual disease in CML, ALLs, Myeloid neoplasms including MDS, MPNs and Multiple Myeloma. Of late he has developed a special interest in solid tumour molecular genetics including liquid biopsies.         He is a PG teacher in Pathology of MUHS and Delhi University. MD / DNB examiner in Pathology & Transfusion Medicine to many universities and DM / DrNB / Ph. D examiner in Haematology at various leading institutes / NBEMS. He is a visiting Professor at IIT, Kharagpur for its M.S. / Ph.D Program in Bio-Medical Sciences. He is well published with nearly 53 international publications and ational peer reviewed journals. Twice he has been a Fellow of the UICC; once at the King's College School of Medicine, London, UK and then at the Harvard Medical School / Harvard Stem Cell Institute / Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston,USA. He has been visiting consultants at Stanford Univ Medical Centre, Palo Alto, USA ; Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York and Univ of Massachusetts Medical Centre, Worcester in USA and Hammersmith Hospital, London. He is a Fellow of the Indian College of Pathologists ( FICPath ) and Indian Society of Haematology      ( FISHTM ). He is the chair of the ICMR task force sub-committee on MDS and the national convener of the Indian MDS Registry initiative. He is the current President of the Molecular Pathology Association of India ( MPAI ). He has been the former Presidents of the Indian Society of Haematology & Blood Transfusion , Indian Association of Pathologists & Microbiologists and the former Secretary of the Indian Association of Pathologists & Microbiologists. He is the past-Editor of the Indian Journal of Haematology & Blood Transfusion. Currently he is in the Board of Directors of the International Society of Laboratory Haematology. He is the Chair of the American Society of Clinical Pathology         ( ASCPi ) international certification program for India. He is a founding member of the Molecular Oncology Society, Molecular Pathology Association of India and chairs its haemato-oncology sub-committee. He is a Member of the EHA Education Committee and co-ordinates the educational activities of European Haematology Association ( EHA ) in India.
