Dr Arpita Bhattacharyya graduated from Medical College, Calcutta in 1987. She obtained her Diploma in Child Health in 1991 and MRCP in Paediatrics from the Royal College of Physicians, UK, in 1997. After her core training in Paediatrics in various hospitals in UK including Milton Keyenes General Hospital, Walsgrave Hospital, Warwick Hospital and Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, she went on to train in Paediatric Haematology and Oncology at Birmingham Children's Hospital and Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Glasgow.
After her return to India, Dr Bhattacharyya has been working as a Consultant in Paediatric Haematology and Oncology at Calcutta Medical Research Institute followed by Apollo Gleneagles Hospital, Kolkata. Her goal is to provide complete care and support to children with cancer and other haematological diseases. The Children's Unit at the Tata Medical Center thus provides state of the art, evidence based, and holistic care to children stricken with cancer.
