Vaskar Saha, MBBS, DCH, MD, PhD, FRCPCH, FRCPath is the Head of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology at Tata Medical Center and Director of the Tata Translational Cancer Research Centre with a dual appointment as Professor of Paediatric Oncology at the University of Manchester. He completed undergraduate and postgraduate training at the Christian Medical College, Vellore. His training in paediatric haematology and oncology were at the University of Edinburgh and the Medical College of St Bartholomew Hospital, London and he completed a PhD at the University of London. Prior to his appointment in Manchester in 2006, Dr Saha was Professor and Head of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology at the Barts and London School of Medicine and Dentistry. He is the first Margdarshi Fellow of the DBT-Wellcome India Alliance. Professor Saha’s area of expertise, recognised internationally, is in the biology and treatment of acute leukaemia’s of childhood.
