Dr. Niharendu Ghara is a Senior Consultant in Paediatric Haematology. He started his career in Kolkata, with MBBS and DCH from the Calcutta University. He achieved his MD Pathology from AIIMS, New Delhi in 2003 and continued as a Senior Resident in AIIMS in Haemato-Pathology till 2005 before moving to UK for further training. He trained in paediatrics and was awarded Membership of Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) in 2009. Thereafter, he trained in Haematology in London under the auspices of North West London Local Education and Training Board or the Hammersmith/ Imperial College rotation. The major parts of Paediatric Haematology training were in St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, London, and Great Ormond Street Hospital, London. He was awarded Fellowship of Royal College of Pathologists ( FRCPath ,Haematology) in 2015 and attained his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in 2016. After his long training in Paediatrics, Pathology and Clinical Haematology, he embarked on his career as a Consultant Paediatric Haematologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London, the world renowned paediatric hospital (2016 to 2018) before returning to India.
His areas of interest are malignant and non-malignant haematological diseases of childhood and Stem Cell Transplantation.
