Dr. Arunangshu Chakraborty completed his MBBS from Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College Calcutta in 2003 and his MD in Anaesthesiology from Moti Lal Nehru Medical College, Allahabad in 2009. After finishing post-graduate training he worked briefly at Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences and Rabindra Nath Tagore International Insitute of Cardiac Sciences. He served in the West Bengal Medical Education Services (WBMES) as a Residential Medical Officer cum Clinical Tutor at the Department of Anaesthesia, Medical College Kolkata. After one year of working as RMO, he was promoted to Assistant Professor at the same department in February, 2011. In July 2012 he went to Singapore to pursue a 6 months Clinical Fellowship at National University Hospital (NUH) where he learned the usage of Ultrasound for vascular cannulations and peripheral nerve blocks. Here he became interested in the usages of ultrasound in day to day practice of Anaesthesia. After returning to India in January 2013 he joined Tata Medical Center Kolkata as a Consultant in the Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care. He has contributed to many publications and presentations and conducted clinical trials. He is also an instructor of BLS, ACLS with American Heart Association.

His areas of interest are usage of ultrasound in anaesthesia and critical care.
