Dr Sumantra Sarathi Banerjee is a consultant in the department of Anaesthesia, critical care and pain at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata. He has completed his graduation from Medical college, Kolkata, West Bengal, followed which he had done his MD (Anaesthesiology) from Bankura Sammilani Medical college, Bankura, West Bengal in the year 2013. Subsequently, he worked as senior resident at Jay Prakash Narayan trauma centre, AIIMS, New Delhi for 1 year. Then he again gathered more experience by working for almost 3 years as senior resident at B. R. Singh Hospital,
Eastern railway, Sealdah, Kolkata. He was involved with teaching of DNB anaesthesiology students there. Next, he worked as clinical associate for almost 2 years at Tata Medical Center in the department of Anaesthesiology, critical care and pain. He is a certified provider of adult Basic Cardiopulmonary Life Support (BCLS) and Comprehensive Cardiopulmonary Life Support (CCLS) from Indian
Resuscitation Council (IRC). He is also certified by Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) to provide Pediatric Basic Life Support. He has been involved in quite a few national and state level presentations, publications in reputed journals and contributed in conducting clinical trials. His specific areas of interest are acute cancer pain management, management of difficult airway and use of ultrasound for regional
blocks.
