Application of information technology in health care helps gain valuable knowledge from data to guide decision making in practice of medicine. Data analysis can help medical researchers and physicians to discover knowledge lying implicitly in individual patient’s health records to identify effective treatments. Different kinds of research, studies, data, statistical designs, randomization and statistical tests will be presented.
Dr Jaydip Bhaumik, DGO MS DNB FRCOG MPH, Senior Consultant and Head of the Department, Gynaecological Oncology, Tata Medical Center, Kolkata. Associated with the institution since the time the hospital was commissioned. Special interest in ultra-radical and robotic surgery for gynaecological cancers, also in preventive oncology.
Subir Sinha is Scientific Officer, Statistics in Tata Medical Centre, Kolkata. He received his B Stat and M Stat from Indian Statistical Institute (Kolkata), and Master’s from Carnegie Mellon University. He has worked at Novartis, Harvard School of Public Health and Alexion Pharmaceuticals. He has taught courses in Biostatistics in Boston School of Medicine and Harvard University. He has been an invited speaker at Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata and Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He has coauthored few publications in clinical oncology.
