The hospital has a comprehensive laboratory diagnostic facilities in order to provide state of the art cancer diagnosis, which keeps pace with the ever changing diagnostic algorithms.The consultants are highly trained in their respective fields. The institution supports their constant skill upgradation through their attendance in various conferences, workshops, seminars and symposia. Being an academic institution the faculty is engaged in post-graduate and post-doctoral teaching in various sub-specialities under the NBE.  The department has technologist training programs under the State Medical Faculty, Govt of West Bengal. The IIT, Kharagpur – TMCK twining program offering M.Sc in Molecular Microbiology is a brilliant example of inter-institutional academic collaboration. More such courses / programs are being planned in future years. A large number of Pathologists, Microbiologists, Bio-Chemists and other Bio-medical scientists from across the country come for training as visitor-observers in different areas of diagnostic oncology. The department provides training facilities with internships to a host of bio-medical sciences program of different institutions. The department is conducting  numerous extra-mural and intra-mural research projects with grants from DBT / ICMR / CSIR / Tata Trusts / Pharmaceutical Company initiated Clinical Trials involving all the functional areas..
