ecancer – TMC Kolkata Psycho-oncology Congress 2024

Dear Friends,

We welcome you to the ecancer – TMC Kolkata Psycho-oncology Congress to be held as an in-person event at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata on 7th Sept 2024. This year’s congress will focus on psychological and behavioral factors impacting accessing care in cancer patients, anxiety, and depression in cancer patients, and also have a symposium on pediatric psycho-oncology.

The conference will be useful for graduate students in psychology, MBBS students, postgraduate medical students, postgraduate students of clinical psychology, and those undertaking MPhil in Clinical Psychology. Early career oncology clinicians from any specialties and working clinical psychologists will also find the program interesting. We have limited the number of participants to 150 only to make it interactive and fruitful. Pre-registration is mandatory.

Registration:

The course fee of 800 INR is to be paid electronically to Tata Medical Centre Trust account. Payment may be done using the QR code or by NEFT details given below. At the time of registration, you will be required to mention the transaction ID of the payment. The organizers are clinicians and we request you to give us 7 working days regarding confirmation of payment and registration. The registration fee for this event is non-refundable.

Oral and poster presentations:

McVie-Veronesi Research Award and oral presentation session: We welcome the submission of original research/audit for the oral presentation session in the field of psycho-oncology, health psychology, or consultation liaison psychiatry. Submitted oral presentations will be evaluated and may be rejected by the organizing committee. The shortlisted candidates will be communicated with the format of the presentation. The jury will choose the best three oral presentations for 1st prize (Rs 12,000), 2nd prize (Rs 8,000) and third prize (Rs 6,000) and the decision of the jury will be final. Dilip Mahalanabis Poster Award and poster presentation: We welcome the submission of original research/audit for the poster presentation in the field of psycho-oncology, health psychology, or consultation liaison psychiatry. Authors are welcome to submit their original work directly as poster presentations. Additionally, authors who submit for oral presentation may be given options to convert the submission to a poster presentation if they are of good quality but do not meet the threshold for oral presentation. The best poster will be awarded the following prizes: 1st prize ((Rs 5000) and 2nd prize (Rs 3000). More information on poster presentation are available here.

Pre-conference Quiz competition:

Although the main conference is an in-person event, we will be organizing an online pre-conference quiz competition (on heath psychology, liaison phychiatry, psycho-oncology and related areas) for which you will need to register separately (click here). The registration for the quiz competition is free. The last date for registration for the quiz competition will be 21st July 2024. There will be a preliminary round for those registered and the top 5 contestants will be invited to the final round of the quiz that will be held live and online on 11th Sunday August 2024. The winners of the final quiz competition will win cash prizes: 1st prize (Rs 4000), 2nd prize (Rs 3000) and 3rd prize (Rs2000).
