Tata Medical Center
Welcome to the Tata Medical Center, Kolkata. The Tata Medical Center is a philanthropic hospital of the highest quality from the House of Tata. We welcome patients from any part of India and abroad, and of any socioeconomic background. This is primarily a cancer hospital, although we do see and treat some non-malignant blood disorders where bone marrow transplantation is a treatment option.
Making an Appointment
We encourage all patients to make an appointment prior to their first visit by telephone at (033)-6605-7222 or by sending an email request to appointment@tmckolkata.com. Patients on their first visit can be seen without an appointment upon the availability of a time slot in the appropriate outpatient clinic.

What should I bring for the first appointment?
Please bring all relevant medical documents such as reports, X-ray plates, pathology slides and blocks along with a referral letter from your treating doctor / institution.
It is advisable for patients to be accompanied by a responsible person who can assist with formalities in the hospital as well as help make decisions.
Patients are required to complete the Personal Particulars Form with personal and demographic details. Patients will be given a registration card upon the submission of the completed Personal Particulars Form at the Registration counter. Patients are advised to keep the Registration Card safely. Information on appointment time and other relevant details can then be obtained from the reception counter.
Registration Categories
Patients may choose to register as a General or Private patient depending upon their financial capacity to pay for the services. Patients are advised to make an informed choice as transfer from one category to another is not permitted frequently. A social worker at the Enquiry/Registration Counter will assist with this process.
Patients seeking consultation by a specific doctor will need to register under the private category.
No distinction will be made in the quality of treatment between General and Private category patients.
Financial Assistance
Tata Medical Center treats general category patients at no profit. In addition the hospital does have the provision for financial assistance for services provided within the hospital for underprivileged patients. This applies only for patients who have registered within the general category and are not covered under any type of insurance or medical cover.
Patients seeking financial assistance for treatment, are required to submit a written application along with documents to prove their financial status. A social worker will assist with this process. The decision of these applications will be made by the physician assigned to treat the patient and a social worker.
Please contact TMC’s Medical Social Worker for financial assistance for treatment.
Payment Process
