About the Department:

The Department of Uro-Oncology caters to the ever increasing volumes of Urological cancers (Kidney/Ureter/Bladder/Prostate/Testis/Penis/Adrenals) in India, as well as neighboring countries; with an aim to provide the latest, internationally equivalent, evidence based protocolized treatment.

Who should contact us?

Any person having bleeding while urinating or any urinary symptoms, elevated PSA, or any abnormality attributable to the above mentioned organs, should see us at the earliest. The department has Outpatient clinics from Monday to Friday, with one or more consultants available to be seen each day. Patients with prior appointments, as well as walk-in patients are seen on a daily basis.

Facilities

The department boasts of the latest, state of the art technologies in Open, Laparoscopic and Robotic uro-surgeries (including the latest expertise in Robotic Uro-Oncology, having the Da-Vinci Robot since 2017). It runs the largest superficial bladder cancer surveillance programme in the region. The department also has the latest simultaneous biplanar US scanner for prostate biopsy and Urodynamics system.

Staffing:

The department has 4 full time Consultants, 4 Dedicated Uro-Oncology Fellows, 2 Rotating Surgical Fellows, One Urology Technician and a Clinical Research Coordinator.

Teaching Programme:

There are 4 Uro-Oncology Fellowship positions. The Fellows are involved in the managing out-patient and in-patient clinical services, and have ample opportunity in all spheres of operative Urology. Academic responsibilities include audits, case presentations, discussing contemporary publications, seminars and organizing multidisciplinary meetings.

Research:

The department is involved in various international and national research projects which are in various stages of implementation. Furthermore, the team accrues to publish their work on a regular basis, with at least 10 publications a year being added to literature.
